Since I was young I have been a fan of 2001: A Space Odyssey and it’s subsequent films and books. The whole idea fascinates me and HAL was the most fascinating of them all. The events that follow the 2010 story line make HAL even more interesting. If you have not read past 2010, go get yourself a copy of 3001: The Final Odyssey. It is well worth it.
